Chitlang is a small paradise near the Kathmandu valley, about 22 km from the Kathmandu valley. The picturesque Chitlang is surrounded by the lush forests and wonderful landscape. Chitlang Day Hiking has become a popular day trip for those who are in Kathmandu. It can be both the day tour or trekking option. The village is populated by the traditional Newari people.
Hike to Chitlang village offers a unique pleasant memory that exceeds your imagination. To start the hike, we arrange the pick up from the hotel and drive you to the starting point at Thankot. If the temperature soars up high, it seems quite tough in the beginning. But the growing altitude makes you cool. The stunning sceneries of the forest and the Himalayas in the north takes your breath away. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the charming views. Even you meet the local road during the hiking.
The hiking trail has been upgraded. There are various meadows to graze the cattle around the village. Different temples with artistic creation, pagoda roofs, and unique crafts offer spiritual fascination.The local people and their lifestyle are remarkable.
Day by day Detail Itinerary:
06:30 AM: Pickup at Hotel, drive to Thankot (15 kms, 35 minutes).
Early in the morning, our tour guide assists you at your hotel and you start the drive towards Thankot. It will take about a 45-minutes drive via car.
07:20 AM: Start hiking from Thankot to Chitlang.
We start hiking from Thankot to Chitlang and it takes about 6-7 hrs. Lunch will be given on the way to chitlang.
02:30 PM: Hike down to Indrasarovar Lake From Chitlang.
We continue our hike down towards Indrasarovar Lake from Chitlang. It will take 2 hours leisure walk to reach the Lake.
04:30 PM: Drive back to Kathmandu, Kulekhani to Kathmandu.
Drive back to Kathmandu, Kulekhani to Kathmandu distance is 45 Kms which will take 1:30 hours to reach Kathmandu.
