Our Everest Base Camp trek package is one of the most sought-after adventures for trekkers worldwide, and a visit to Mount Everest remains a lifetime dream for many. With the ideal opportunity to take in majestic mountain panoramas and the region's stunning scenery, this trekking package ranks among the top trekking experiences on a world stage.
This 12-day Everest Base Camp trek winds, climbs and descends its way through lush lowland and alpine forest, Buddhist monasteries and authentic Sherpa villages. Highlights of this trek package include the lifestyle of the high Himalayan people, their religion, customs and traditions, rare birds like the golden eagle, snow pigeon, red-billed and yellow-billed coughs and flowers like rhododendron, magnolias, blue pine, chir pine, juniper, and hemlock make this trekking package a delight for nature lovers.
Our Everest Base Camp trek package involves a remarkable amount of up and down hike-walking. Tea house trekking is possible on the main trail to Everest Base Camp. While reaching Base Camp is the goal for many trekkers on this package, the view of Everest itself from the base camp can be disappointing. For the best views of Everest, we recommend taking the Kalapatthar Trek. This trek can be completed in conjunction with our Everest Base Camp trek package.
The Everest Base Camp trek difficulty is rated moderate to challenging. You don't need technical climbing experience, but you should be in good physical condition, as the trek involves long walking days (5–7 hours) at high altitude, with the highest point of the trek at Kala Patthar (5,545m). Altitude sickness is the main risk on this route, which is why our itinerary builds in two dedicated acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. We recommend starting a basic cardio and hiking fitness routine at least 4–6 weeks before your trek.
The best time to trek Everest Base Camp is during the pre-monsoon (March–May) and post-monsoon (September–November) seasons. These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and the best mountain visibility. Spring also brings blooming rhododendron forests along the lower trail, while autumn offers the most consistent, crisp views of Everest and the surrounding peaks.

Morning flight to Lukla with wonderful views of the mountain range; after roughly 30 minutes of scenic flying we land at Lukla, and after a short break begin the trek towards Phakding village for the overnight stop. A moderate walk with a few short ups and downs through farming villages, following the Dudh Kosi river to Phakding.
Day 02: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m).
The walk continues, crossing bridges over the Dudh Kosi River and passing through several interesting villages before arriving at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate. From here the trail follows the riverbed for a few hours before a final steep climb up to Namche Bazaar, where good restaurants, cafés, a post office, and banks are available.
Day 03: Rest day/Namche Bazaar (3440m) – An acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.
An essential rest day for proper acclimatization before heading to higher altitude. A short hike up to the Everest View Hotel or the hilltop above Namche offers views of Everest, Ama Dablam and neighboring peaks, along with a visit to the local museum.
Day 04: Namche Bazaar (3440m) trek to Tengboche (3810m).
A gradual scenic path descends to the Imja Khola river for lunch, then climbs uphill through rhododendron, pine and fir forest with views of snow-capped peaks. At Tengboche, visit the famous Buddhist monastery with its magnificent panorama of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtega, Thamserku and the majestic Ama Dablam.
Day 05: Tengboche (3810m) to Dingboche (4410m) trek.
A morning descent over the Imja Khola river, after which the trail opens onto high country where the tree line thins to a few juniper and dwarf rhododendron bushes. A gentle uphill leads through the last permanent village before the higher valley, followed by a slow climb to Dingboche for the overnight stop in the scenic Imja valley.

A second essential rest day for acclimatization. A short hike up the nearby hills offers excellent views of Makalu and neighboring peaks.

A steep climb of about an hour opens onto excellent views, followed by a gentler trail to a lunch stop where the Khumbu glacier melt forms a raging river. After a break, a steep climb leads to a pass marked by stone memorials to climbers who lost their lives on Everest, Lhotse and other high peaks nearby. From here a pleasant walk continues to Lobuche for the overnight stop.
Day 08: Walk from Lobuche (4910m) to Gorakshep (5140m) and to Everest Base Camp (5364m), return to Gorakshep.
Today reaches the highlight of the adventure. A few hours of walking over glacier and moraine, with a short steep climb in between, brings you to Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kala Patthar. The trek continues to Everest Base Camp, where you take in the notorious Khumbu Icefall and surrounding glaciers, before retracing the route back to Gorakshep for the overnight stop.
Day 09: Trek to Kala Patthar (5555m) and back down to Gorakshep (5140m), then trek from Gorakshep to Pheriche (4240m).
An early morning hike to the top of Kala Patthar at 5,555m, the highest point of the trek, rewards you with incredible close-up views of Everest and the surrounding peaks at close distance. After this memorable moment, return to Gorakshep for breakfast, then continue the descent through Thukla and down to the windy valley of Pheriche for the overnight stop.
Day 10: Pheriche to Namche (5–6 hours).
The return journey becomes noticeably easier, losing altitude with every hour. The trail retraces its earlier route with a few short ups and downs, passing familiar villages back down to Namche Bazaar for the overnight stop.
Day 11: Trek from Namche (3440m) to Phakding (2610m) and then to Lukla (2840m).
A pleasant downhill walk retracing the outbound route through the Dudh Kosi valley to Phakding, and from there a final climb back up to Lukla. Celebrate the last night of the trek with a farewell dinner alongside fellow trekkers and staff.
Day 12: Flight from Lukla (2840m) to Kathmandu (1400m).
An early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, with fine views of the mountains on the way. On arrival, transfer back to your hotel with the rest of the day free at leisure.
