Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, received by our staff with transfer to your hotels, where our guide / leader will brief on Langtang Valley & Ganja-la pass trek, hotels, lodge on route with do and don’ts with evening group welcome dinner.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with guided tours at places of interest and trek preparation.
Reserved a day in Kathmandu for optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations, on this day an ideal few hour tours around interesting part of Kathmandu city, steeped with heritage sites of temples and monasteries including old palace and royal courtyard.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m - 07 hrs journey.
Starting this wonderful journey driving towards North West of Kathmandu passing interesting villages and towns with fabulous scenery of hills, farm terraces and snowcapped peaks after warm area reaching to cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche 1950 meters, the one and the only major town of Rasuwa district and Langtang area, inhabited mostly of Tamang ethnic tribes throughout the area of this trekking. From here downhill for two hours with overnight at Syabrubesi, the door to Langtang, Ganesh and into Tamang Heritage Trail and as well to the Tibet border from this village.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430m - 06 hours.
Our first day walk starts with a climb for few hours, and then walk gets pleasant on gradual trails encountering terraced farms and scattered villages, walk continues reaching a river side where the trail from Thulo Syabru meets (our route on the way back) at Bamboo with few lodges, after a short stop walk uphill into cool forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines tree lines and into a gorge following Trisuli River upstream to Lama Hotel for overnight stop.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,430m - 06 hours.
Morning walk into a river gorge with thick forested area, passing few small farm settlements, to reach a nice place at Ghoretabla (horse stable), from onwards altitude gains slowly and air gets cooler. After lunch break at Ghoretablea and around trek continues to our overnight stop at Langtang village after a walk for few hours. Langtang village was a moderate size village (partly destroyed by 25th April 2015 earthquake) of Tamang and Bhotia’s tribe people, native of Langtang region for hundreds of years.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m - 04 hrs.
After a wonderful stop in this last village, and into temporary settlement of yak herders and lodge to serve the trekkers, moving on the winding up trail and then the gorge opens to a wide beautiful valley with awesome views of snowcapped peaks that surrounds Langtang valley, After a nice and pleasant walk reaching our first destination at Kyanjin Gomba for two nights in a lovely valley, surrounded by giant peaks with Langtang Lirung glacier close to the lodges with a cheese processing factory established some 35 years ago with support of Swiss technical assistance.
Day 07: Rest day at Kyanjin for acclimatization and hikes.
A perfect spot for rest day to acclimatize at this high altitude before our next higher journey to Gosainkund and beyond, here many places for short hike and climb like to the hill top of Tsego and Kyanjin ri at over 4,000 meters top for better panorama of surrounding mountains. From view point hill overlooking at Langtang Himal, beyond which lies Tibet. The major peaks include Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it continues to the Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), extending further east on the upper meadows of the Langtang range ends in a huge and massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.
Day 08: Trek to Ganja La Phedi 4,300 m - 05 hrs.
Morning walk with views of mountains, leaving Kyanjin Gompa to start our adventurous journey, crossing Langtang River and then climb into birch and rhododendron forest to reach an icy trail and to a flat ground at Ganja La Phedi meaning bottom for overnight camp, View Nepal with camping facilities of spate kitchen unit of cook-kitchen staff and guides, here our guide will scout the area for next day crossing over Ganja-la pass.
Day 09: Cross Ganja La pass 5,122 m / 16,800 ft descend to Keldang 4,250 m - 06 hrs.
Starting early morning climb towards Ganja La pass on a high ridge, quite a challenging climb to cross, the pass might be covered in snow most of the season, sun-light hardly reaches around this hidden place close to Nayakanga peak. This route is a challenge and adventurous, very few trekkers seldom use this trail, walk leads to a climb on icy path passing small ponds to reach top of Ganja la pass, after a hard climb descend down to reach overnight camp at a small place of Keldang Kharka.
Day 10: Trek to Dukpu 4,080 m - 05 hrs.
From here onward around Helambu area, walking past summer pasture of cattle herders on downhill walk with few ups and downs reaching small settlement for overnight camp at Dukpu.
Day 11: Trek to Tarke Gyang 2,590 m - 05 hrs.
After being in complete wilderness, morning walk leads to charming villages of Helambu at Tarke Gyang, starting with gentle downhill and then up to a small pass at an altitude of 4,100 m /13,451 ft with views of Ganesh, Langtang and Jugal Himal mountain range including Mt. Everest in the far east, from here downhill through forest of pines and rhododendron trees, reaching at Helambu main and first village at Tarke Gyang for overnight stop, with time in afternoon to visit one of the oldest Buddhist monastery of this area. Tarkegyang, famous for Buddhist culture, wood carving and delicious green apples also. Afternoon free to explore this lovely village and the old monastery of Ama Yangri situated on top of the village.
Day 12: Trek to Sermathang 2,610 m - 04 hours.
Morning after leaving this nice village walk downhill through cool forested path passing many chortens (Buddhist prayer monuments), summer meadows to reach Gangyul a small village, then following the path with wonderful views of rolling hills to reach at Shermathang for overnight stop, another cute and lovely Hyalmo village here with time to visit another old interesting monastery.
Day 13: Trek to Malemchipul Bazaar, drive to Kathmandu - 05 hrs drive
After a wonderful time around Helambu and its pristine nature, continue walk for few hours walk on long downhill trail to Melamchi town and a bazaar for the drive back to Kathmandu,. Few hours of pleasant drive reaches at Kathmandu after a wonderful time in the high hills of Himalaya.
Day 14: International departure homeward bound.
Last day in Nepal with wonderful experience and fond memories of Helambu trekking, as per your flight time, our staff transfer you to airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
